This handbook has been prepared to provide you with an overview of the school’s policies,  rules, and regulations governing all families of Loydence Academy, especially in relation to  COVID-19 safety. It is intended to familiarise you with important information about the school, as well  as provide guidelines for your experience with us in an effort to offer a safe, healthy, and happy  learning environment for the children.

Details within this handbook are subject to change at any time.  The school will attempt to inform parents of changes as soon as possible when they are made, though this may not always be possible.

Communicating with us

Our preferred method of communication is via Class Dojo messages and parents are expected  to download the application and connect to their children’s classes at the start of the academic  year. We also communicate through email (info@loydenceacademy.com), telephone (+974  44918114) and via hardcopy letter. If a matter requires private discussion, an appointment  should be made in advance to ensure adequate time and privacy. Entry to the school building will not  be permitted without an appointment.

Loydence Academy maintains an Open Door Policy, whereby all children, visitors and parents  have access to the teachers and Senior Leadership Team (SLT). In order to ensure the smooth  running of the school, parents are expected to alert their class teacher or the SLT with any  matter of concern via email, Dojo message or phone call. Children will use Google Classroom as  part of their learning, which is linked to the email address provided by the school when they  joined. They will receive assignments, feedback and can ask their teachers questions from  here. It is expected that the children have the facility to log on to this online platform and we  ask parents to support their child where necessary.

Face to face meetings are available by appointment only. It is an expectation for parents  to download and use the Class Dojo application to communicate with school (https://www.classdojo.com/download/) and to ensure children can access their online Google Classroom (classroom.google.com).
