As the Schools Olympic Program prepares to launch its 17th season this September 25, we at Loydence Academy are already buzzing with excitement and pride over our students’ recent accomplishments in various sports disciplines. From the football fields to the gymnastics arenas and onto the karate mats, our students have shown exceptional talent and determination.

Karate Conquerors

This past weekend was momentous for our young karatekas, as Mahmoud and Shahm brought glory to Loydence Academy by winning medals at the Qatar National Karate Competition. These victories not only showcase their hard work and dedication but also set a high standard for our younger students in Years 1 and 3, who take part in karate as a key component of their physical education.

Champions in the making! Congratulations to Mahmoud and Shahm for their stellar performances at the Qatar National Karate Competition. Keep kicking high, boys!

Football Fever

Our Key Stage 2 football teams have shown us what determination and team spirit look like on the playing field. Both boys’ and girls’ teams represented the Academy with pride during the School Olympics events.

A Gymnastics Gold Rush

Perhaps the most exhilarating highlight came from our Year 6 student, Fares, who completed our week of sports with a phenomenal performance in boys’ gymnastics. Not only did Fares represent our school with grace and agility, but he also clinched an astounding three gold medals. His achievement is a beacon of inspiration for all our students and a proud moment for the entire Loydence community.

A triple gold winner! Fares amazes us all with his gymnastic prowess, representing Loydence Academy with grace and power. What an achievement!

Heartfelt Thanks to Our Pillars of Support

As we applaud our students’ accomplishments, we cannot overlook the efforts of the individuals who have supported them on this journey. A huge thanks to Mr. Andre, who has shown commendable dedication and leadership in organising and supporting our children as they pursue their sporting goals. His mentorship has empowered our young athletes to excel and navigate the challenges of competition with confidence.

We also extend our deepest appreciation to our incredible support staff team. Their tireless work behind the scenes, from logistics to enthusiastic cheering, is the foundation of our sporting success. They deliver the much-needed encouragement and structure that allow our students to excel. For their commitment and hard work, we are eternally grateful.

Looking Ahead

As we look forward to the new season of the Schools Olympic Program, we are committed to nurturing our students, encouraging them to adopt active lifestyles, and provide them with numerous opportunities to discover and refine their talents. This aligns beautifully with the enhanced objectives of the Schools Olympic Program, which, as announced, aims to expand its reach and provide equal opportunities across a greater number of sports.

To all our students, we say, “Well done!” Your achievements fuel our passion as educators and affirm our commitment to developing all-rounded individuals. You are not just participants in sports; you are champions in every regard.

Stay tuned for more updates and stories from the fields, mats, and arenas as our students continue to make us proud!
