EXPECTATIONS OF THE SCHOOL:  THE POSITIVE REWARD SYSTEM 

It is important that achievement and good behaviour are rewarded. The two main ways of doing  this are by giving Dojo points or House Points for good work and recording such things as exceptional effort,  improvement in behaviour, volunteering to help children and staff etc.  

Certificates are given out to pupils in all classes each week – we call these ‘Star of the Week’, and  these are presented during a special awards assembly each Thursday, parents are invited to  join in the celebration (through meet.google.com during COVID-19 measures). 

Below is a small overview (but not limited) of different forms of rewards to be given and  celebrations to be recognised: 

 

EXPECTATIONS OF THE SCHOOL:  NEGATIVE BEHAVIOUR 

Once misbehaviour takes place then the teachers take action in 5 steps based on a student pattern of repetition. The  below table explains the action taken against each step of class misbehaviour action:

Where these steps have been exhausted and the undesirable behaviour continues, the following steps will be taken:

 

Student misconduct process – Level 1

If the misconduct is Level 2, or if it is Level 1 and 2 think sheets have been given for the same misconduct in a 4 week period, the following steps will be taken:

The next few pages are the master copies of the discipline documents required to be  stored in the Key Stage Coordinators office for record keeping.
