About Us
Loydence Academy is part of the Loydence Group. Our first school was opened in Dafna in 2009 andoperates as an early years school for Preschool and Reception children only. Loydence Academy in Aziziya was opened in September 2011. Our first day at school had six classes and32 children, within two years we grew to a two-form entry school made up of fourteen classes and over 200 children. The growth was mainly due to our good reputation amongst parents and we are very proud of this. Our highly qualified teaching staffs are all British nationals and have gained teaching degrees through the British University system. We believe the best way to offer a genuine British education, is to have British teachers. Our teachers are supported by excellent classroom assistants, who come from a variety of countries. All our assistants have a good level of spoken English and work closely with the teachers to ensure the children receive the best support. Your child's safety, whilst at Loydence Academy, is our priority. We have two fire drills per term to ensure that all children know exactly what to do, should there be a fire at school. All trips are led by experienced teachers and they will have carried out a risk assessment at the venue before taking their class. Any parents who want their child to use our school bus, must first sign an agreement. This guarantees the school that you will ensure your child behaves in a way that is expected by staff at Loydence Academy. We have rules in place at school to minimize the number of accidents, like walking around the school and arrows to show the children which side of the stairs they should be using.

Strategic Long Term View and Commitment : The strategic plan and direction of the academy will be regularly monitored, evaluated and reviewed by the staff and senior management. As an academy we are committed to an ambitious strategy for its long-term development. We want the academy to be recognized as one of the best in Doha, and to achieve this we will focus on three themes:
Standards: We want the best educational standards for our children and the senior management is very determined to see the academy deliver this high quality education. We are committed to a self-evaluation process to ensure that strengths and weakness are identified. We will encourage any changes necessary to raise standards and make available resources to deliver the improvement. We will target teacher expectations as well as pupil under achievement and ensure that any TA support is used effectively. Our rigorous Pupil Tracking System will play a vital role in keeping all stakeholders fully informed of standards and potential targets for improvement. We also believe that standards are affected by the emotional well being of our pupils and staff. We recognize the need for emotional support systems, a healthy balance between structure and flexibility and work life and home, and will endeavor to implement manageable, sustainable systems to address these issues.
Creativity: We believe there is a strong need for a balanced approach to education. We believe it is very important that the children have a wide range of opportunities and that educational experience is not confirmed to preparing for end term assessments. We shall continue to encourage creative thinking and allow teachers to foster and develop the natural sense of curiosity and self-expression in children. We develop a lot of creativity in our foundation subject cross-curricular planning, and will continue to do so as the school grows.
Community We strongly recognize that, the area outside the classroom plays a critical role in helping and supporting children’s learning. We want to develop the partnership between home and school and the community, promoting the academy as a place of high level learning and expectations. Our Arabic teachers will play a vital role in this, as they are our close link with our non English speaking parents. Communication is vital for an academy to achieve the right balance, which in turn develop a high level of commitment from both school and home.
